More than 1,000 schools across Queensland will have access to an Apple Education discount through a pilot program beginning on Tuesday.
Key points:The discount is available to students enrolled in an Apple school or university, and will cost $200 in the stateThe Apple Education programme will run for three yearsThe discount will also apply to students who are not enrolled in a school or currently enrolled in schoolThe program will also cover students who do not have the means to pay full price for a school, but are interested in learning more about the Apple Watch, including Apple products and services.
Students enrolled in Apple schools or universities will be able to take advantage of the discount in two ways: they can buy a digital Apple Watch for $200, or they can purchase an Apple Watch Sport or Apple Watch Edition for $120.
Apple Education discountA student can only take advantage, if they are enrolled in one of the following Apple schools, universities or other educational institutions:Apple schools and universities in Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia can apply for the Apple Educator Education Discount.
In order to be eligible, students must be enrolled in the Apple education program and pay the full price of their course of study.
To be eligible for the discount, a student must be eligible to attend an Apple education institution and be enrolled at least one year in the education program.
Students in the program will be given the option of either purchasing an Apple watch, or purchasing an iPad.
Students must then choose whether to receive the Apple discount in their Apple Education program or pay full retail price for the device.

What to expect from the Apple iPad and iPhone app in QueenslandThe Apple iPad app will also launch in Queensland this month, alongside the iPhone app, in a bid to help students make more informed choices about where to study.
Students will also have access, through the Apple apps, to a variety of content including Apple Music, iBooks, iTunes, and iBooks Plus.
The app also includes an iBooks app, which is designed to be an interactive and engaging learning environment for students.
For students interested in making the most of the Apple Learning app, the Apple App Store is also available in Queensland.
Apple is also launching the iBeacon app in partnership with the University of Queensland, and is also offering the opportunity to earn points for Apple Watch Activity trackers.

Students can now book appointments with the Apple Campus Tour, which includes an Apple campus tour, a free iPhone app and a free Apple Watch app.
The Apple Campus tour is available for $39.99 for adults and $39,99 for students with a minimum purchase of $99.99.
