The Scottish Government is launching a £2bn fishing industry that could help save the UK fish stocks and create millions of new jobs.
The Government’s fisheries minister has announced that the Scottish Government’s Fisheries Industry Strategy is designed to boost the sector’s economy.
It is expected to be launched at a major fish market in Glasgow.
It will involve a number of initiatives including a Scottish Government-backed fish farm in Llanelli, where the fishing industry has grown to over 400 employees.
It’s also designed to encourage the sector to develop new fisheries management techniques to protect the health and welfare of the catch.
One of the key initiatives is the Scottish government’s planned fish farm, which will see a fish farm built near Llanellans farm and fish farm on the Clyde.
The project will also create new jobs and help to support the sector as it transitions to the global fish market.
Fishing industry leaders have been encouraged by the Government’s plan to help them adapt to the changing world.

The fish farm project has been supported by a £3m grant from the Scottish and Welsh Governments to establish the fish farm and will provide a small number of fishermen with jobs.
The Scottish Government has set out the strategy in its first report, which it will present to the Scottish Parliament’s fisheries committee on Wednesday.
It said: ‘The Scottish government is investing £2.4bn over four years to support Scottish fishing businesses in order to provide them with the opportunity to create and maintain employment opportunities in their area.’
Fish farms have been vital to the industry, providing them with a steady source of income and support, as well as attracting a number more local fishermen to the sector.’
This is the first step in a number that will support the fishing sector to be able to grow in Scotland and to benefit from the increased demand for fish.’
The Scottish Parliament has previously approved £2 billion in funding for the fishing business.
This has included support for the development of a fishing farm on Loch Llanelly in Scotland, which is the site of the world’s largest fish farm.
The farm is expected create up to 350 jobs.’
